A Vision to Reach the 7,500

We believe God is calling us to Make Room for families, discipleship, community, the next generation, and for God to move in fresh ways.
God has guided NCC to focus on the following four communities: Pleasant Garden. Climax. Julian. Liberty.
Together, these areas hold over 7,500 people who don’t yet know Jesus or don’t have a church home.
This is our moment.
This is our call.
Let’s Make Room  for what God will do next.

A Note from Pastor Josh

God is leading New Covenant into a new season — a season of multiplication.
Jesus said, “The Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost.” (Luke 19:10 NLT), and Make Room is our response to that calling.
We believe God has entrusted us with four communities: Pleasant Garden, Climax, Julian, and Liberty.
And reaching all four starts with expanding in Pleasant Garden. This expansion becomes our sending center — the place where we build the capacity to gather, disciple, and send people into the surrounding areas.
This is why we’re sending Jonathan & Kaylee to plant a new church in the 27406 community. They aren’t leaving NCC — they’re being sent, just as Jesus sent His followers to reach those in need.
Make Room is bigger than a building.
It’s about creating space for more people to meet Jesus and building a church that multiplies into our region.
Let’s Make Room for what God will do next.

Why We're Making Room

Make Room is our vision to expand ministry so we can reach the 7,500 people in our communities who need Jesus. We believe God is calling us to Make Room for families, discipleship, community, the next generation, and for God to move in fresh ways.
God has strategically placed us among four communities:
  • 27313 — Pleasant Garden
  • 27233 — Climax
  • 27283 — Julian
  • 27298 — Liberty
Across these ZIP codes live approximately 14,461 people.
Approximately 7,500 of those individuals:
  • do not know Jesus
  • do not attend a church
Jesus, overhearing, shot back, “Who needs a doctor: the healthy or the sick? Go figure out what this Scripture means: ‘I’m after mercy, not religion.’ I’m here to invite outsiders, not coddle insiders.”
Matthew 9:12-13 MSG

What We're Building

Make Room begins with Phase 1 of our long-term campus plan—a strategic expansion designed to meet the ministry needs of today while preparing for the growth we expect in the years ahead.

Phase 1 Includes:

  • A new auditorium: Designed to comfortably host two services and create space for up to 900 people each Sunday.
  • Expanded Kids and Family Ministry spaces: Safe, secure, and engaging environments where our next generation can grow in their faith.
  • A brand-new outdoor playground: A fun, family-friendly space that supports community, connection, and young families at NCC.
  • A larger lobby and community gathering area: Space for connection, conversation, and meaningful relationships before and after services.
  • Improved parking flow and accessibility: A smoother, more welcoming arrival experience for guests and families.
  • Upgraded production, audio, and lighting: Tools to support excellent worship, clear communication, and online ministry.
  • Critical site work and infrastructure: Everything needed to prepare our property for future growth and potential expansion phases.
This is not just a construction project—this is the foundation for the next 30 years of ministry at New Covenant Church.
Phase 1 creates the room we need to:
Welcome more families
Disciple more people
Develop more leaders
Send more teams
Reach more of the 7,500 in our mission field
We’re building space today for the stories God will write tomorrow.

How We’ll Fund the Make Room Project

We’re funding the Make Room project through a balanced and responsible plan built on cash reserves, church-wide pledges, strategic financing, and additional funding opportunities.

Cash On Hand

We are building a strong foundation by stewarding every dollar intentionally to prepare for groundbreaking.
Current + Projected Cash Milestones:
  • $100,000 currently on hand
  • $700,000 goal by December 31, 2025
  • $1.4 Million goal by April 26, 2026 (Groundbreaking Sunday)
This upfront cash reduces what we need to borrow and positions us for long-term strength.

3-Year Pledges

December 14th, we will invite our entire church family to make a 3-year pledge toward the project during our Make Room Offering.
These pledges:
  • Fuel construction
  • Reduce overall loan need
  • Demonstrate unity and momentum
  • Allow us to keep ministry strong during building
Every household can participate at a meaningful faith step , from monthly giving to one-time gifts.

Construction Loan

A construction loan will cover the remaining cost of Phase 1, based on:
  • Total pledges
  • Cash on hand
  • Loan-to-value requirements
  • Construction timeline
This loan ensures we can begin building on schedule and pay over time as the church continues to grow.

Grants & Additonal Funding Opportunities

We will also pursue community and organizational grants where available — particularly for:
  • Family ministry spaces
  • Playgrounds
  • Community-use areas
  • Outreach initiatives
These funds help offset costs and expand our community impact.

Together, We Fund the Future

The Make Room project will be funded through a combination of cash, pledges, loans, and additional funding opportunities—all working together to support the full $7 million Phase 1 project cost. A simple, unified strategy: Give. Pledge. Build. Make Room.
Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap.
Luke 6:38 (NLT)
Key Dates
  • Vision Party: January 11 at 2pm
  • Send-Off Sunday: March 8, 2026

A New Church Plant in 27406

Get to know more about what makes us different.

God has called Jonathan & Kaylee Wilkerson to plant a new church in Southeast Guilford (27406), and we are excited to send them into this next step of ministry. This plant represents the beginning of a new season at New Covenant — a shift from addition to multiplication. We don’t just want to fill a building; we want to become a church that raises, equips, and sends leaders.
At New Covenant, we believe the Church is called to be a river, not a pond — always moving, always pouring out life, always open to where God is leading. Sending Jonathan & Kaylee is our first intentional step into that river, creating new streams of ministry beyond Pleasant Garden.
A Note for Those Who Live in 27406
If you live in 27406, NCC remains your home unless God clearly calls you to be part of this new plant. This sending is an invitation — not an expectation. You belong here.
